How do I Edit a Recurring Job?

Changes to jobs can occur anytime. This article will guide you on how to edit a Recurring Job so you do not have to start from creating a new series.

Changes to a Recurring Job can include:

  • changing the dates and pattern of the child jobs
  • changing the time of the jobs
  • assigning or changing the Fieldworker for the job

When editing a Recurring Job, all changes must be done on the parent or originating Job. To find your recurring jobs easily from the main list, you can add either the "Recurring" or "Recurrence End" columns to your list.

These columns will help you identify and locate the parent and child jobs. This is important to know because any changes to a recurring job must be done on on the parent job's record. In this example, it is Job Code 128.

1. Editing a pattern or date

  • Select the parent job from your main list.
  • Once you have the Job record open, go to the Scheduling section and click "Edit recurrence".

  •  You can change the frequency of the visit and the date when the new visits will begin.

  • Upon saving, the changes will be applied to all jobs that have a future date and are Not Dispatched.

2. Editing the time

  • To the Start / End time of a job in a recurring series, follow the same steps as above.
  • When you get to the Set Recurrence window, click on the time picker to change the Start or End time for the job.
  • You can do this in conjunction with changing the pattern and date.
  • Save your changes.

2. Assigning or editing the Fieldworker

  • To assign or change the Fieldworker on a job in a recurring series, follow the same steps as above.
  • When you get to the Set Recurrence window, click on the drop down list and select a Fieldworker.
  • You can select "No Fieldworker" if the assignment is not yet decided.
  • Save your changes.
