Troubleshooting QuickBooks Desktop Sync

This article refers to the newest version of QuickBooks Desktop Sync, released to some customers starting July, 2016. 

CLIENT SYNC ERRORS

There are no records in QuickBooks with the Customer Name <<WORK Client Name>>.

There are multiple records in QuickBooks with the Company Name <<WORK Client Name>>.

No match on WORK Client Name to QB Customer Name

1 WORK Client Name matches Multiple QB Company Names

Please change the name on the WORK or QuickBooks records to ensure there is a unique match and synchronize again.

There are no records in QuickBooks with the Customer Name <<WORK Client Name>>.

There are multiple records for Company Name <<WORK Client Name>> in both WORK and QuickBooks.

No match on WORK Client Name to QB Customer Name

Multiple WORK Client Names match Multiple QB Company Names

Please change the name on the WORK or QuickBooks records to ensure there is a unique match for each and synchronize again.

Cannot create more than one record in QuickBooks with the same Customer Name <<WORK Client Name>>.

 

FM WORK Duplicate Client setting is currently disabled.Two client records exist in WORK with the same name.

One record has previously been synced.

Second record is now being synced.

OR

FM WORK Duplicate Client setting is currently disabled. Two client records exist in WORK with the same name.

Both records are included in same Sync.

Please change the name on the FM WORK or QuickBooks records to ensure there is a unique name for each and synchronize again.

The Client record has an unknown State <<QB's State Value>> for Country <<QB's Country Value>> OR <<FM WORK Company Details Country>>

Two client records exist in WORK with the same name.  

<<FM WORK Company Details Country>> is used if the QB's Customer record has a missing or Invalid Country value and a default has been applied from the FM WORK Company Details.

Please add a State to the  QuickBooks record or enable the 'Use default State' in the Fleetmatics Sync settings and synchronize again.

INVOICE SYNC ERRORS

Invoice <<WORK Invoice No>> for <<WORK Client Name>> matches multiple Invoices in QuickBooks with the same Invoice Number and Client Name.

1 WORK Client Name && WORK Invoice Number match One or Multiple QB Customer Names && Multiple QB Invoice Numbers

Please change the Invoice number on this record or delete the duplicate records in QuickBooks and synchronize again.

There are multiple tax rates linked to this Invoice. Only one tax rate can be assigned to an Invoice in QuickBooks.

In QuickBooks an Invoice can only have one Tax Rate.

In old connector for same scenario we will just take the first tax rate found on the Invoice line items.

Please change the tax rates on the Invoice in WORK to ensure all tax rates are the same and synchronize again.

The 'Do you charge sales tax?' setting has been set to "No" in QuickBooks but there are tax rates linked to this Invoice record in WORK.

The Sales Tax setting has been disabled in QuickBooks.

Invoice sync is failing if we pass across tax rates and the "Use Sales Tax" setting has been disabled in the QuickBooks settings.

Please change the 'Do you charge sales tax?' setting in QuickBooks to "Yes" to sync the Invoice with tax rates to QuickBooks. Or, turn off the 'Using Sales Tax' setting in the Fleetmatics Sync settings to sync the Invoice without tax rates to QuickBooks.

There was a problem synchronizing this Invoice to QuickBooks. The Books have been Closed in QuickBooks for this period.

An Invoice is being synced to QuickBooks. The Invoice date falls within a period that is closed in QuickBooks and updates cannot be made within that period without a password.

Please Reopen the Books for this period or manually update the Invoice information in QuickBooks.

There was a problem synchronizing this Invoice. Please review any additional errors as well as the data on this Invoice and Client and then try to synchronize again.

 

Error: The Client for this Invoice failed to Sync.

Invoice sync failure due to issue with the linked Client Record

Please review any additional errors related to the Client of this Invoice. When the Client issue is resolved try to Sync again.

PAYMENT SYNC ERRORS

There was a problem synchronizing this Payment. Please review any additional errors as well as the data on this Invoice and Payment and try to synchronize again.

Error: The Invoice for this Payment failed to Sync.

Invoice sync failure due to issue with the linked Client Record

Please review any additional errors related to the Invoice of this Payment. When the Client issue is resolved try to Sync again.

There was a problem synchronizing this Payment to QuickBooks. The Books have been Closed in QuickBooks for this period.

Please Reopen the Books for this period or manually update the Payment information in QuickBooks.

A Payment is being synced to QuickBooks. The Payment date falls within a period that is closed in QuickBooks and updates cannot be made within that period without a password.

Please Reopen the Books for this period in QuickBooks and Sync again or manually update the Payment information in QuickBooks.

There was a problem connecting Fleetmatics WORK with QuickBooks. If this problem persists, please contact Customer Support with the following error.

Error: There is currently a network connection issue.

Network connection issue, cant connect to FM WORK.

Check your network connection to ensure you are online and can connect to FM WORK.

There was a problem connecting to WORK. Please check your WORK login is valid and try to synchronize again. If this problem persists, please contact Customer Support with the following error.

Error: Unable to authenticate with WORK.

Authorization issue with WORK.

Check the QuickBooks Sync application and reenter a user name and password if prompted.

Restart the QuickBooks sync application.

There was a problem synchronizing this record. If this problem persists, please contact Customer Support with the following error.

Error: Unknown Error

General Error/ general database error. To catch unhandled scenarios. If examples occur will need to be investigated on case by case basis.
